CHEM:
TRICLINIC CRYSTAL SYSTEMS: axinite

What type of substances is axinite found in?
What are the current/possible economic values of axinite?
Explain possible uses of axinite, ie.

CALC:
f(-5)=4; f(0)=0; f(5)=-4
f'(-5)=f'(0)=f'(5)=0;
f'(x)>0 if |x|>5; f'(x)<0 if 0<|x|<5

how would you graph that?
so we have points (-5,4), (0,0), and (5, -4)
what would you do about the derivatives? where does it concave up/down and how can you tell?

find stationary points.... f'(x)=0

determine nature
use f"(x) equation and sub in the x values for the stationary points

f"(x)<0 concave up
f"(x)>0 concave down

this is the fast way... your teacher may want the box test

for points of inflection make the f"(x)=0 and find x values...
