I like a guy, and I don't want to like him., Help? Options

I like him, alot. I have likes him for monthes, and I have been too shy to ask him out. Now I am in high school and there is a Sadies Hawkins dance. I don't think he has a date. I am scared to ask him out because I have never gone on a date, and he has been avoiding me a bit lately. I have a friend who likes him too, not as much as I do, but still. He avoides me more when she is around. He is not the brightest guy in the world, and yet I still can't help my feelings. So far he has gone out wih two girls, both of them are really pretty, and now I heard he likes this prep who I hate.


So he is sort of stupid, avoides me, and likes my worst enemy, and I still can't get over him...

basically, anything will work. if he likes you, he'll say yes no matter what.

although; he doesn't sound like the sort of guy you'd be friends with. in which case, i'd think about going with the simply ignoring him option.

if you're not friends, you probably won't be good boyfriend/girlfriend.

which, i assume, would be the desired result.
