Take into consideration Wilt was a center, in a time where there was no 3 point line. Of course Kobe would not have. Take into consideration that during Wilt's game, their team would automatically foul the other team in order to get Wilt more points.
But I agree, Wilt's game was more impressive because of many reasons. The Lakers played the Toronto Raptors, while the Warriors played the Knicks. Wilt had 20+ boards in that game as well. Shame, it's a damn shame, a goddamn shame, LOL, that Wilt's game was not on tape. I'm getting my Ahmad Rashad on and I'm gonna say, props to my main mans Wilt and Kobe ___ Kobe couldn't score 81 not fourty years ago, and not even 5 years ago. 5 years ago, there was no rule for "hand checking", which means you could guide a player driving to the basket with your hand, and now if you do that it is a foul I think Jordans 63 against the Celtics is also more impressive. That was during the playoffs, and the Celtics were not a crap team. Plus, Jordan's teammates were actually semi productive. Wilt could not even score 40 in the NBA now with all these rules. 5 seconds to the basket, illegal defenses, etc. ___ i think kobe could have a higher point scoring game in Wilt's league, than Wilt would in todays league. im not saying either wil score above 50, but kobe could score more poitns than wilt in eachothers leagues. 1) human beings have gotten more athletic 2) basketball players have learned new techniques 3) more efficient practices and conditioning 4) man on man defense |

Yes, but it was expected that Wilt was going to miss the free throws. But he made them all. QUOTE But I agree, Wilt's game was more impressive because of many reasons. But it would be harder for Wilt to compete in today's league, simply because there are so many other good big men. |
