Death is as natural as living. I think it's important to remember a person for his life, not his death. If you cherish the good memories you had with him, he's never really going to leave.
A few years ago, a friend of mine who I had known since I was in third grade died, rather suddenly, of a brain tumor. It was sad, yes, but when I think of him, I don't focus on the fact that he died; I remember his clowning around in class, or how he and I worked on the lighting crew for musicals together and he always brought food and soda in for the crew, or how we used to talk and joke around in band or class. I don't worry about his death because I have plenty of good memories of him to keep with me. |
