this is great news !! i always believed that royce da 5'9 had great crossover potential, he has the voice, delivery, flow, hooks, image, and definately the lyrics to appeal to mainstream fans.

royce da 5'9 - best rapper alive (mp3)

now my question. who do you think has more potential to sell records, Joe Budden or Royce Da 5'9 or Memphis Bleek?

i think the average rap fan is more familiar with Joe Budden's name (based on the success of Pump it Up), then Memphis Bleek's name (based on Round Here and also hearsay), and least familiar with Royce Da 5'9.

I think the reason that Royce Da 5'9 will outsell both artists is because the average rap fan will be more attracted to hot beats and catchy hooks

Since all 3 wlil get the same production, i think that Royce Da 5'9 and Joe Budden can both make catchy hooks, but I cannot say the same for Memph Bleek (at least not all the time)

now on to Voice.. it is unquestionable that Royce Da 5'9 and Memph Bleek have better rap voices than Joe Budden.. that will make a difference..

Flow? I believe that Royce Da 5'9 has the best flow in the game, just look at "Best Rapper Alive".. Joe Budden is also very consistent and Memph Bleek is alright... i also like both rappers because Joe and Royce both rap with lots of emotion, while memph is sort of monotone

Lyrics are definately something that Joe Budden and Royce have the advantage on, i would say Toss-Up between the two.. Joe Budden has the edge on punchlines, conscious shit, and storytelling, and Royce has the edge on Complexity and stringing rhyme schems together that sound good

Promotion? I think that Memph Bleek will get the most promotion, Im not sure who will be better off, Royce or Joe Budden, but based on past events im sure that president carter will push royce harder, for reasons i dont know

it will be close and exciting to see who will sell the most.. styles P said this line that had me rollin.. "Memphis, your like the point guard, always bringing the Roc down"...
