I want some new music so this is coming back!
Indie kids unite! ![]() So, one of the more mainstream indie bands I'm completely into right now is Sleater-Kinney. I'm sure the rest of you share my love. But yea, I'm reaaaaallllllyyyyy into them. Sure, I have been for a while, but I can't get enough of them. They're always great. Agent Sparks, another one I'm getting into is similar to Sleater-Kinney. Tilly and the Wall is great, too. I'm really happy to see more chick bands breaking out in the indie music scene. Gives me some inspiration. The Cardigans have a bit of a retro feel to them. It's refreshing. Another chick, too! ![]() The Clientele is really calm and easy. Nice for relaxing. They've been getting a lot of attention lately. Vitalic is just plain neat. Lots of electric sounds. Pretty obscure, way out from the mainstream music scene. If you've seen Lola Rennt, it's kind of similar to the music in that movie (which is also pretty cool). I've also been getting into Wolf Parade. A mix between traditional rock sounds and electronic ones. Kind of New Wave-y. Good stuff. Got any new and upcoming bands/singers that you want to share with the indie population of Createblog, or any to discuss? |

QUOTE(rockstermonkey @ Jan 14 2006, 2:38 PM) I have one of the rosebuds albums, the one with "back to boston" on there. I wish that song was way longer, it's too short. Yeah, no lyrics there really, but nonetheless amazing. They just had a new album out recently, I haven't checked anything out from there. Recently, I've been on this Andrew Bird kick. That's the one I don't have, besides a couple of tracks. I have the new one and the "Unwind" EP. I do wish "Back to Boston" were longer... QUOTE(william @ Jan 14 2006, 3:56 PM) andrew bird is nice, as is destroyer. british sea power is okay, their live show was a little odd though. i saw matt hopper and the cold war kids last night, and both were pretty good. i am trying to find a ride to go see stars and the elected in san francisco in february, and i think it actually might work out! other bands worth mentioning: on!air!library!, the russian futurists, the boy least likely to, new buffalo, and climber. Andrew Bird is okay...I wasn't attracted enough to what I've heard to listen to more of him, really. Do you know when Destroyer's new album is coming out? The two tracks from it are my favorite from them, thus far (particularly since their original version of "Streets of Fire" sucked compared to the New Pornographers' version). I liked the one New Buffalo song I have I ought to listen to more. They remind me of someone...and I still think that The Boy Least Likely To peaked at "Be Gentle With Me." The rest is listenable, but not great. I've been listeneing to Stars a lot more lately. I really wish we'd gotten those tickets to see them and Death Cab before they sold out ![]() THE SHINS HAVE A NEW SONGGGGGGGG!!! *squeals* |
