Do you use your feet to flush a public bathroom toilet? Or with your hands?
I used to with my hands until someone told me how unsanitary it is so I use my feet and some people think I'm weird. I mean, I still wash my hands after so whatever. I use my hand at home or when they have those regular small toilet handles. But if it's long and sticking out or something then I use my foot. For all you fellow 'foot flushers' here's a GREAT idea and product! It's a Foot Flush toilet pedal! It retrofits to your existing toilet. And believe it or not you have the same germs on your home toilet handle that live on public toilet handles! Of course, I would still recommend regular cleaning of the bathroom and definitely encourage ALL to wash your hands after EVERY use. But its one less thing you end up contaminating before washing your hands. How many people do you know that don't bother to wash their hands if they have just used the facilities for urinating alone? The numbers are much GREATER than you would imagine or would like to think! The minute you touch the toilet handle (regardless of what you've just done or regardless of why you are flushing) chances are you have just picked up someone else's germs. Unless the handle is cleaned after each use (and lets face it - how often are toilet handles cleaned???) you have just touched someone else's business. I've flushed the toilet with my foot for many YEARS! Looks to me as though it just got EASIER for me! It would also be great for people with back issues, getting kids to FINALLY flush, and seniors who may be unable to bend.
