I was flipping through Seventeen Magazine when I got to the advertising page. I found an ad for Barbizon Modeling & Acting Centers, and on a whim, I figured I would go to their site. So I went there, and they had a 'contact us' section. I went to the Barbizon Houston site, and I contacted them. I have no professional modeling/acting experience, I definetely don't have model looks, and I'm not very much into clothing or fashion. I emphasized my willingness to try new things and meet new people rather than my looks. If they call me back and I set up an interview with them, I have a very strange feeling I might get turned down because of my looks. But I don't know, though. I think it would be fun and all. What do you guys think?

You're right that it does cost quite a lot of money (I believe it was more than $1,500?), but there have been people who've gotten jobs and auditions from it. I mean, I heard that one guy from Even Stevens (Disney) came from Barbizon. They're not exactly promised a job, but I mean, come on, in college, you're not promised a job either, but you pay thousands of dollars to go. My friend learned a lot from that school, although she said that it is very competitive, so she stopped going and now she's in theater, since she found out she likes acting more. She's rich so yea, connections ![]() As for the post above, well maybe it is crazy to have to pay $5000 for it but personally, I agree with al-lure--you just have to take the chance. I mean, if it is $500, then that's better than having to pay $5000. I think you should've gone to the orange county one -- you never know. Talent scouts could be there! |
