I can hear the old birds sing
Like rejoice in something so simple as water A dripping flowing movement of sound I can smell the trees Cedar and pine, bleeding and mending Scarring with the vines I can feel the sun filter down through the canopy and warm selected areas of my body My face, my fingers, my knees... I can see the day beginning A slow walk of the sun I cannot see across that great expanse of sky The cold warmth of the damp ground beneath me as I lay A creature of the forest Safe and away from City's play |
