I just bought my PC which is a Gateway and also a brand sony new home theater system. I connected both the receiver and computer together with optical wires. Well the problem is that when I listen to music, it works good. But when I try to watch a DVD movie and turn it to dolby surround sound. I can only hear the sound effect not the speech/talking of the actor. Yes, I've connected all of the wires from all 6 speakers that I have. If I set it to all speakers, it works good..but I want to hear the surround sound just like in the movie theater. I am using CyberLink PowerDVD to play the DVDs and I also have the full version of it. If you guys know any better program to use then please tell me. I don't see what's wrong. If anyone could help me I would be greatful because you would lose my head ache from solving this problem for weeks!! Thanks tongue.gif

I suggest using VLC Movie Player, cause it can play pretty much any format.

What sound card do you have? Are you sure the wires are connected in the right jacks?
