HOW DID U GUYS REACT WHEN UR RELATIONSHIP BROKE/ WHEN U LOST UR FIRST LOVE?

I know this guy for the past 4 years. He flirted a lot with me, and there was a stage when he said things which would only mean he really really loves me and is serious about me. He moved a few days after he said those things. He's been out of town for 3 years now. We kept in touch (and still do). We were close and i fell in love. He's about 6 years older, and told me he wouldnt b getting married anytime in the near future when i last met him 8 months back. I believed him.
His dad comes and tells me 3 weeks ago, "he's getting married..do u know?" I was shocked. He never told me a thing. I cried, i was devastated.
We have a large common social circle, and happen to b family friends. He called me and clarifyed everything. I realised he all he did was just for timepass. His fiance and I share our name, our birthday and we both can cook and sing well. She's a couple of years elder to me.
I decided to take it well. I told myself i will not cry. Whatever has happened has happened for my good. Maybe i'll find a better person in future. He's not that well off financially. His job has odd timings. Maybe my life holds something better. On the plus side, we can still b friends.
I cant say it doesnt hurt, coz he has gone thru a major transformation. He was lazy, unemployed and a major flirt. He's become more responsible and mature over these 4 years and i'm proud to say i've seen his transformation. And he's the hot topic in my home as well as our social circle. I still feel a stone drop in my somach when someone mentions his name.
I'll take it positive and move on with life..it has taught me one thing..just wait for ur man..he'll come along one day, and u'll know how lucky u r..i'll wait and watch!

Wow...I can't believe his fiancee has the same name and birthday. That is very creepy.
I'm really sorry about all of this. Remember he's 6 years older, so it probably was different for him. I'm sorry about this heartache. I really am :(
How did I react after my first love? hmm...I cried a lot. I ate ice-cream and gained a lot of weight. I hated his new girlfriend, but probably hated myself more. I missed him terribly. I talked to him a few different times. Once I went back to his house to drop off his stuff. That was one of the hardest things. I remember him saying that I could keep it, but I said I needed to give it back. He told me he regretted it, dumping me. And I looked into his eyes, and we both knew we still loved each other. That totally sucked man. lol. I still care about him. He probably still does'nt care about me, he's with my ex best friend now, and they've been dating for a while. I can't believe she did that to me. Long story.
He buries his feelings very deep and hides them well. I'm sure i'll never be with him again, but I didn't take it really well. It takes a long time to get over someone you truly cared about. BUt i'm hoping that a guy will come along that will be much better then him, and will make me feel the way he did, or even more. So i'm hanging on to that thread of hope. You should too. It gets bettter. It has to.
