I'm gonna post notes that we took in English class on here, kay? These are like really left wing and really right wing, and they may be exaggerations, but here we go... Just so some of you can get an idea of what each of these groups are like kinda... or the basis of each i guess
Liberalism *Progressivism *Green Party or Democratic Party *Pro-Choice *Higher Taxes for social programs *Seperation of church and state *More government involvement in business *Everyone wealthier if gov't is involved *against death penalty--immoral, vengeful, ineffective *War as a last resort-- doves *Conservation of environment *More lenient regarding immigration *Question the 2nd amendment (the right to bear arms) because guns lead to violence, widespread death, etc. *They're for scientific exploration *Freedom of speech--all speech protected *For gay marriages---right to choose *Less walthy Conservatism *Republicans *Pro-Life *Prayer in school *Against Gay Marriages *traditional morality *For the 2nd amendent *Low taxes *Small gov't *Laissez faire-- let do *Private ownership *For death penalty-- "an eye for an eye" *Against cloning-- unnatural, playing god, goes against traditiona beliefs *Wealthy *Controlled immigration *Sound science *Religious in schools *Policemen of the world *Affirmative action *War viewed as partiotic (hawks) |
