The choices "no" and "doesn't matter" confused me on the poll, so I didn't vote. They are the same thing, right?
Anyways, ethnicity may determine a few things about a person, not because they are that ethnicity, but because they were raised in the cultural atmosphere surrounding that ethnicity. That doesn't mean that everyone of one ethnicity thinks or acts the same, just that they may have a few of the same mannerisms, or use the same phrases a lot. I'm white, and I'm dating a half-white half-hispanic boy. I live in Texas also, and there is a lot of racism going on down here, mostly between the white and black people. I absolutely adore the Mexican side of my boyfriend's family, but a few members of my family are straight-up bastards about it because they're uppity white rednecks. It's very frustrating, but it's not worth giving him up. As a matter of fact, I generally prefer boys of other races, but I have no problem with white guys at all, I just don't meet too many that I like being around. |
