parents and dating... problem Options

Ok, well... my parents are toatlly retarted... they tell me that I'm not allowd to date or have a boyfriend until I'm 16, and they are super over-protective with me... but there's this guy, and we only met about 4 months ago, but we are already best friends and so close, much closer than I've been with anyone in my whole life. And we talked about relationships. He told me that he likes me, I told him that I like him back, but he told me that he doesn't want to go out with me or anyone yet, that he doesn't want a girlfriend. He says that once you go out, when you break up you won't be as good of friends. Which is really true. It makes me happy, because I know that it gives me more time.. he doesn't know that I can;t have a boyfriend till I'm 16. But I'm afraid that by the time I'm 16 (about a year and a half from now) that he'll already have a girlfriend and I won't be able to have him, or it'll be too late and he won't like me anymore, he'll like someone else... and if I disobey my parents, they'll know, I can't keep that a secret, so what should I do?

Well you don't have it that bad. I'm currently dating a guy I've known since 6th grade! I'm not supposed to date at all during highschool--but I broke the rules. You like him a lot? Love him? Then just take the dive! Don't worry about your parents! They may be all "you can't date him or else!" but if it makes you happy, they'll understand. They may forbid you to call or see him, but hey if you really love/like this guy then you'd be willing to go through all that! Your parents just really love you and don't want you to get out of focus. They want the best for you. So prove to them that you can stay focused while crushing on this guy. It may take time for your parents to accept the fact you like/love this guy, because...well frankly, they care a lot and don't want you hurt.

My parents know that I have a boyfriend. I didn't even have to tell them! They know him already, but not quite fully. We have gone through so much and that proves how much we wanted to be together. It proved that we can be patient--we waited for 3 years to make it official! So be patient. Endure this piece of dilemma, and if you can pull through this, then you're ready for the real test--actually being together.
