Ok, well... my parents are toatlly retarted... they tell me that I'm not allowd to date or have a boyfriend until I'm 16, and they are super over-protective with me... but there's this guy, and we only met about 4 months ago, but we are already best friends and so close, much closer than I've been with anyone in my whole life. And we talked about relationships. He told me that he likes me, I told him that I like him back, but he told me that he doesn't want to go out with me or anyone yet, that he doesn't want a girlfriend. He says that once you go out, when you break up you won't be as good of friends. Which is really true. It makes me happy, because I know that it gives me more time.. he doesn't know that I can;t have a boyfriend till I'm 16. But I'm afraid that by the time I'm 16 (about a year and a half from now) that he'll already have a girlfriend and I won't be able to have him, or it'll be too late and he won't like me anymore, he'll like someone else... and if I disobey my parents, they'll know, I can't keep that a secret, so what should I do?

your parents aren't retarded for restricting when you can date. i'm not suppose to date till college. at first, i thought they were being overprotective. however, i changed my mind after being with my boyfriend for so long. we've gotten into rather risky situations and i even thought i was pregnant for a time (never had sex though). when your parents restrict when you can date, they are worried that you might end up making mistakes. you might say that you'll be careful but trust me, i WAS careful. they only want the best for you.
i told my parents about my boyfriend and for the moment, they are okay with it. in fact, they are happy (somewhat) for me. take the time to tell your parents about him. but honestly, if you are looking ahead and worrying about him having a girlfriend, you shouldn't really look into a relationship with him. if you think there's a possibility of him moving on, then there probably is. |
