not just the whole "math, language arts, social studies, science"
but what part in the subjects do you find fastinating? there are some parts of algebra i actually enjoy doing. then social studies has so many events I like to learn about. World War II really interests me... Civil War And a lot of the wars in asia..I read a lot of books on those like Year of Impossible Goodbyes, Red Scarf Girl, Chinese Cinderella, and When my Name was Keoko. So what types of things in school do you actually enjoy learning about? |

Physics:
Absolutely nothing. Calculus: I like application problems and figuring out how to solve a problem on my own. English: The Great Gatsby was awesome. Poetry was not. It really depends on the literature, I guess. I like discussion about the author's ideas, rather than strictly about the story's plot. French: I just like the conversation and the culture. We read French articles about current events, too, and it's interesting to delve into the French media. History: Analysis of society, rather than memorization of facts. Theory of Knowledge: Socratic seminars, applying philosophy to the various ways of knowing, learning about fallacies and how to BS like a politician. :P World Religions: Islam is fascinating. I like learning about the religious ideas and connecting the ideas to each religion's unique traditions. Learning about similarities between faiths is also interesting. |
