I pasted the code for my layout in my entry box, it showed up because I used <textarea> and yata yata, but when I hit submit in the code I see this ex: <br />. And it makes my code all weird. So when you go to paste it to your look and feel It doesn't show up right, but when I edit the entry it doesn't have the <br />. How can I get rid of it?

Don't put new lines in the code (i.e. press "enter") when you're putting it as an entry.
