Teen kills himself after told to limit game time
Yap Wai Chung , a 16 year old boy from Petaling Jaya, Malaysia electrocuted himself after his father told him he had to cut down his online gaming time. From The Star, "Worried about his sons addiction to computer games, he lectured the teenager about it and told him to limit his computer playtime to an hour a day." "After the scolding, Wai Chung ate his dinner and continued playing computer games while his parents went off to bed." "'We rushed to the study and found Wai Chung on the floor with electrical wires around his body,' the father said at the University Malaya Medical Centre, where Wai Chung's body had been sent for a post-mortem." "His father said a note was found on his computer, asking his parents to give his beloved computer to a friend." http://thestar.com.my/news/story.as...3579&sec=nation my goodness kid ![]() |

that's sad for his parents. They'd probably be wishing they never asked him to stop playing computer games. They'd be blaming themselves b.c of a stupid thing like that.
On the other hand, the boy was kinda stupid to kill himself over that sort of thing. It's really pointless, his parents were doing it for his own good. He should have realised that. I would never comit suicide for something as stupid as that, it's only computer games. But if he was bullied at school or didn't have any friends or something like that and playing computer games took him away from that and, in a sense, into another world, away from reality, then I'd understand b.c it's the only thing he had and sorta therapy so yeah. But it never said that so I guess that wasn't the problem. Papers never tell you everything. |
