1. This isn't a thread to bash hiphop. So don't come in here and just say, "rap sucks," or to say, "IDK I don't listen to rap," because I'll verbally rip you a new one. Thats a promise.
2. D4L, Mike Jones, Pretty Ricky, Lil Rob, etc; is not hiphop so don't talk about garbage like that or someone will verbally rip you a new one. 3. Spark some nostalgia and bring up the classics. After listening to Common's "I Used to love H.E.R." and watching Brown Sugar, I feel its necessary to ask this question... When did you first fall in love with hiphop? For me, it was when I was 5 years old and listened to A Tribe Called Quest's Midnight Marauders. Its the earliest memory of music I have. Have fun, mafuckas. ![]() |

^ I wasn't being sarcastic.
I actually love those lyrics. Why does hip hop have to always have meaningful lyrics? Why can't you have lyrics which incorporates the aspect of just having fun. I enjoy listening to wack lyrics, occasionally I need to get a good laugh in. If there were no such thing as wack lyrics, then there wouldn't be a reason to talk about impressive lyrics. So the reason I love hip hop , is because no matter what people may think or say about the music, it doesn't bother me because I enjoy it no matter the subject matter. However I really started listening to hip hop after I heard Pac's Brenda's got a Baby. |
