i want to be an actress, but nobody supports me Options

I've always wanted to be an actress. I could care less about the fame and fortune, just doing something that is enjoyable and lets you express emotions in someone elses shoes. But the problem is, my family doesn't think I can do it. I'm scared to confront them and tell them that this is what I want to do because I know in the end they'll end up saying I can't make it. I've held on to this dream for years (mind you im only 13) and even though they bring me down I keep coming back for it. My mother has seen me act and even admits that I'm exceptional. When I was younger I used to always roleplay on neopets boards (I still do) and do make up plays with my brother and sister. After all this determination, I'm still shot down by my family. I think that they may be trying to help me instead of hurt me but they have to understand I will not give up. I tell them this but nothing works.

Do you think the problem is within me? Advice please.
And don't be harsh, I'll understand without rude comments.

if you're asian, then that's obvious that they'd only want you to be an engineer, lawyer, or doctor.

but you're only 13, you've still got an entire life ahead of you. most people, by their 18th birthday, don't stick with the same ambitions they had when they were 13.

you're too young to decide for sure what you want with your life, you haven't seen and explored enough of it yet.

as said before, you parents are doing what they think is best. regardless of how good you are, your chances are way too slim.

you could have a voice like mariah carey but remain penniless and undiscovered. it's how this world is: very unfair.

acting, theater, singing---entertainment-wise careers are always the riskiest ones. you could be making $600 a month--which is the average hollywood actor's salary to 20 million per movie.

and with 600, it's almost impossible to survive. what i recommend is to invest yourself on another interest. you can love acting, but have something else you can lend on if your acting dreams aren't acheived.

but if you love it so much, don't let anyone stop you.
