Hmm, they say the pledge every morning at our school. When I was younger, I used to follow my peers and just stand up with them. But now that I'm older and I know I don't believe in god, I don't say that part of it, and usually I just don't stand up at all.
I do think that the words "under god" should be removed because there is nothing wrong in saying: I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America. And to the republic, for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Now, that wasn't so hard, was it? |
