QUOTE(BrandonSaunders @ Nov 28 2005, 11:07 AM) Joe Budden is garbage, and he's lost influence in the mixtape game. He can't hold a candle to Saigon, Jay Bezel or Jae Millz. BRANDON??? I'm going to assume that you haven't really listened to Joe Budden and your just making a generalization based on his debut album. QUOTE talkin bout he real he got equipped with a glock // but like kurt thomas he cant do shit on the block QUOTE some want me chained to a cell // but like julia roberts in oceans 12 they just playin themselves QUOTE sometimes i have to dumb down for these fake dudes to see us // so i might throw in an extra line like a fake adidas QUOTE who you rap dudes tryin to be son // you not a contender, you the dude that died tryna to be one QUOTE how the gun blinds these cowards want mine // but their big men are soft like the dallas front line QUOTE i hate guns like i hate condoms - dont like the feel to it // but i gotta stay safe so i still use it QUOTE you been waitin for some years, but everything is fake // its like a rear-view mirror, nothin is as it appears CODE i dont clap the four fifth? // if you believe that then youd believe Rick James died of natural causes CODE battling? thats a small thing // im like a christmas tree i just stand there and let my balls hang CODE point blank when hammers is out // i'll have it right up on ya skin just like the plastic on ya grandma's couch CODE if we beefin get smacked // dumb ninjas point burners at these DVDs like they beefin with smack CODE dudes tryna f**k you like incest // while you search like credit cards for who got your best interests CODE i ain't worried bout this or that droppin // cause dudes is fallin off, they like big mac toppings CODE these rappers is like tysons team // they cant tell its time to retire that mic do you want more? i would have postefd more but i can't have that many quotes in a post joe budden has been killing it lately, 3 Sides to a Story might be the best storytelling song ever, i can't wait for mood music 2. |

QUOTE(yo pusha @ Nov 28 2005, 9:15 PM) i would have postefd more but i can't have that many quotes in a post joe budden has been killing it lately, 3 Sides to a Story might be the best storytelling song ever, i can't wait for mood music 2. Some of those one-liners are clever but for the most part, you posted a lot of mediocre metaphors to prove your point. Just because you know his music, doesn't make him any better than what he is. Ever heard of Big L? Joe Budden to Big L is like Ja Rule to 2pac. Better yet, since L is dead, why don't you cop some Papoose. QUOTE God sent me as scientist to cure AIDS and take it off the earth's mug, but they aborted me now he sent me back as a thug A one liner is nothing without meaning behind it. QUOTE Gang violence killed my fam about 10 years back Disregard for human life just to sell some crack But drive-bys are still around, and thats a known fact Don't believe me? Then try walkin' through Iraq Unlike other colors, we have a salary cap So when your pockets get fat, expect to get capped Or invest in gats, straps and click-clacks From a Russian cat free of tax Again, metaphors and clever rhymes don't mean shit if they have no meaning. All those Joe Budden quotes are just party lines. Still not impressed. Its understandable that Joe Budden isn't a mainstream sensation. Most lyrical artists aren't (which is unfortunate), but why has he lost his underground influence? Hiphop heads in the northeast that are wise to the mixtape game just aren't feelin Joe Budden. I got a few of his mixtapes right before he made it big and had his 15 minutes of fame; he was ok; nothing great; certainly not enough for me to waste my time researching and quoting his lackluster rhymes on an internet forum. ![]() |

Joe Budden is to Big L what Eminem is to Kangsta. Ok, maybe I gone too far. Conscious songs? Real Life and Rap, Sing For The Moment, So Long Goodbye, Dumb Out, more. Storytelling? 3 Sides to a Story, Calm Down, Only You, I Want You Back, more. QUOTE no names should be mentioned with mine unless you talkin' Big Pun in his prime maybe '96 Jay before Dame was throwin' money around or 2Pac without Humpty around or 50 before Em, Nas talkin' like a gun in a song cam'Ron during Children of the Corn beans before the cops came through and tried to grill him im talkin' '95 Big L before they killed him em before 8 Mile, Shyne before the jail shit canibus no album out, before the L shit talkin' about Kiss, DMX when he was f**kin' with coke or Cuban Linx - Raekwon and Ghost i do it All, who blend in so well in the game, talkin Fab back when he was still spellin' his name, MAYNE on my diddy shit, Memphis, Grizzly shit like back in the day when Clue swiped all of Biggie's shit rappers don't need trouble with I unless it's Ras Kass before the D-W-I or Talib and Mos, Common before Be if they any less common don't put 'em before me, SEE see, I'm not a rapper, I'm a prophet if hip hop is all smoke and mirrors joe budden is the windex and the napkin. papoose? he has multis and clever punches at times, but his flow is like a pass from sebastian telfair - only on point half of the time. plus his voice and deliver i cant stand. as joe budden said, his style reminds me of spinning rims, that shit got palyed out real quick. saigon? i wont front saigon is ILL. i think joe budden is better though, saigon is not consistent at all, and he needs more work to be put out. i think joe budden and fabolous are the two most consistent on the mixtape scene. researching and quoting his rhymes? all i did was listen to the first five tracks on Mood Muzik volume one. Underground influence? Joe Budden is the most highly anticipated artists and has a huge fanbase. Dumbout Season Vol. 1 and Mood Muzik vol. 2 are currently the two most anticipated mixtapes. Joe Budden maintains a relationship with his fans unparrelled with any artist - he posts on boxden, joebudden.com, and allhiphop.com. Download these tracks - 3 Sides to a Story, So Long Goodbye, Calm Down, NBA freestyle and then get back at me. For now I'll leave you with this Joe Budden lyric. QUOTE i'm stuck between platinum and flop, underground and mainstream conscious, backpack, scratch that, same thing i'm somewhere between the real and the fakeness the red pill, blue pill, real or the Matrix and I can't take this if the game needs a new look, i'm between the tummy-tuck and the facelift and everything I say in these pages is straight from the heart, nah magazines, y'all can't rate this 'cause I'll be debatin', it's a bit outrageous like it's an ear virus, and the shits contagious i'm downloadin' like, niggas actually play this ?!?? maybe I'm buggin' out, maybe I'm on the spaceship QUOTE Don't put niggas in the same sync as me I mean metaphors, punch lines, deep shit Club shit, girl shit, World shit They don't use the ink like me Niggas don't even think like me !! * the three quotes i quoted were all from the track "Dumb Out". |
