div help, maybe layers Options

i have been working on learning how to do div overlays for about a week. i keep getting so far and then something gets messed up so i start over. right now i am trying to get a custom friends list. i had the code generated and then i changed all of the colors. when i prev. it after i type the code, i see the friends. after i submit it and look at my profile, it goes away and all i can see is m background image. i know there must be something silly that i am missing. here is my code.
