I was just wondering...does anyone else think its ridiculous to call it 'turkey day'? why can't we just call it Thanksgiving???

Turkey Day is easier to pronounce than Thanksgiving.
Call me lazy. but I go by a 43 folders set on life (I hack daily life tasks) Do you really think calling Thanksgiving Turkey Day will diminish its meaning of giving thanks? In order for people to call it Turkey Day, the people must first recognize that Thanksgiving exists. |

Eventually, Thanksgiving will be called Turkey Day so often that the original name will be striked out, and it'll just be called Turkey Day. Eventually the meaning would be lost, obviously we all know that's it Thanksgiving now, but our children might not. Wow, that makes me sound like I care a lot about Thanksgiving. Honestly, though, I don't. Not that I don't think the meaning behind it has good intentions, but to set aside ONE day for being thankful is bullshit to me. Be thankful everyday; setting aside one day only makes people ungrateful for all the other ones. |
