![]() I have no clue what I did differently in the past two weeks than before, but it would seem that my page crashes certain people's browsers and kicks them offline. At first glance, it may appear as though I have a lot of massive images which would take time to load. I am speaking of my OWN images and graphcs, I cannot be accountable for the size of images in the comments left to me from others. My own images only are 12 KB to 20 KB in size. I saved them all as "save for the web" to ensure they load quickly and effortlessly. I removed some flash from my page... I also took out the background and just opted to use a colour code to generate the grey background I have now, rather than use an image. Please, please help. People are still adding me as a friend so not everyone has this problem. But for those who do this is very bad public relations considering I request friend adds from a lot of artist and model industry types and my page attracts the attention of those type of people as well. It is very embarrassing to me to hear from an artist or model telling me they couldnt view my page to see what I was about to add me as a friend, or that my page crashed them 5 times and they are very frustrated with me. Also I cannot recreate this crashing myself. My page loads fine for me within a few minutes and I have a dialup speed connection. Any help and advice will be taken into consideration and appreciated. Well, from what I can tell, it may be the combination of multiple style tags and the images. It may look fine on your computer, but, you've viewed your page and the images multiple times, and others have not..so the data being transfered from where the images are hosted, to their computer could cause their browser to crash. Especially if it's many images at once. [I believe..].
What I would suggest you do, is look through your codes, clean it up, since you only need one set of style tags, not eight like you have now. If that doesn't help, then I would suggest you resize your images/take some of them out. |
