Does anyone know what operating system the Xbox 360 runs on? Does it use the same (or a similar) modified Win2k kernel as the original Xbox, or did MS develop something new? I've been having trouble finding information on the 360's operating system software.

Well, an operating system in a computer or computer-like device handles basic functions and provides a framework on which to build software. I wondered what operating system the Xbox 360 runs--the original ran a heavily modified Windows 2000 kernel. (A kernel is the very heart of the operating system that controls interaction between hardware and software.) |
