the other day, my mom told me that she had pretty much doomed me to never have a decent relationship with anyone since all i've ever seen has been fighting with her husbands (not simultaneous, past and present, though i don't even know why she and my father divorced, nor can i remember them together) so i'll never be able to trust a man. i found it interesting, though, because what it really has shown me is that no matter how cynical i may be, i'm a hopeless romantic, don't like the idea of dating, and am very glad i'm friends with and like such geeky people rather than attractice jerks. but what do you think? is a person more likely to overcome their environment or fall unintentionally into the same trap?

My moms the opposite. My parents fight everyday, literally. And sometimes its physical but ever since i tried to stop it, had an attack and passed out they have lessened. My mom always tells me when shes done with her heaving sobs, through her gutteral tears she tells me no matter how her and my dad are, they shouldnt influence my life. Which i think is kind of hard since its what i grew up around before i started living on the streets on and off.
I think that the environment you grow up in, can only affect your lifestyle if you let it. |
