I'd rather make mistakes than break.

Don't you just love the taste of blood in your mouth?
The breaks and the cracks and the casuality counts
They teach and they preach the Jesus they speak
But your deaf to the sound of the life that you seek
The heat and the laughter and the sin on your thighs
The cuts and the bruises caused by bedroom eyes
That women with cancer and that father whose never home
Parents who don't bother to pick up the phone
And the priest said in church that "Faith is enough,"
But Father faith is fading because life's getting too tough
A daughter that asks for a daddy and a baby that asks for a life
A rapist who has no motives, but a lover with a knife
A liar whose lying, and doesn't mind that he's dying
And the people who only have their faith left
Because our promises weren't ever meant to be kept
They were meant to be trampled forgotten and broken
Just like our sin and our seasons still spoken
And our blood that's still bleeding
the poor that still needing
the prophecies that are supposed to come true in 30 years
because that's what happens when the end is near
so bite your lip in your nightmare
and make it bleed, taste the blood and don't care
Don't live for the fairy tales, and nursery rhymes
Don't live for the promises and all that supposed "time"
We live for ourselves for our pasts and mistakes
for the lovers and liars and all of us who are fake
Pray for me, and I'll pray for you
with the blood in our mouths and the lies we call truth
We don't live for the fun, for God
not for anyone
not for the money or the fame or the love
not for the people or the peace, but the lack thereof
So keep your promises (not to me, I don't want them)
or your faith or the people (don't you know how you flaunt them?)
Get used to the pain, it'll eventually start numbing
It's the end of the world, but I think I saw it coming.

Criticism welcome.

I like it. The imagery is good, the rhythm is good, the message is good. I especially enjoyed this line:

They teach and they preach the Jesus they speak
But your deaf to the sound of the life that you seek
