The easiest way to catch on is to probably watch as much basketball as you can, then once you feel comfortable with the sport find someone who plays regularly and have them work with you on the fundamentals: passing, shooting, dribbling, defensive shuffles. it'll take a lot of time and commitment but you can do it if you stay dedicated, good luck :)
