I have a winter formal comming up, and yeah I suppose it is a bit early to be thinking about what to wear but I am a busy busy girl  . Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what type of dress someone would wear to a formal b/c theres so many freaking kinds! [tea dress, cocktail, etc] Suggestions for stores or dress types would be appreciated. I dont want to go to DEB or anything cuz I dont want someone else to show up in the same dress. THEN... how should I do my hair and stuff? I guess, I just want any tips you can give. I really want everyone to be wow-ed. THANKS!

Depends how formal your formal is. A coctail dress is usually semi-formal, but would probably pass at your thing. If your winter formal is traditionally very formal (ie. guys all in tuxes, and girls in gowns) then I would suggest you do that, but if not, then a cocktail dress is perfectly fine. I would say that since it's a winter formal and not a winter semi-formal, nothing above mid thigh.
