Something about it took my soul as it left
That pain, if it is ever felt,

A regret. That's all I'll ever be to you from now on.

Despite the pain that lives, you still mean the world to me
And it's these words that I wish I won't say.
It proves something I've been fighting not to show
And I would do anything to push that past away,
Even if it means meaningless relationhips to string me along
This thing that we call survival.
It's because I don't know what to believe in anymore.

It's my fault I think this way.
So much I could blame but there's no point.
The feelings will never leave anyway.
I'm still alive, I'm still breathing with or without the hope
Starting over is an obligation,
I had no choice to begin with.
No choice in the first place.

So many complications when it could all be so easy.
But that's life, it's the unwanted given.
Time can never mend what's been done.
If only I had the power to change it all
Then maybe I would have my happy story
And I would still be writing with my heart beside me through the end.

But like a fool I still wait
With only tainted memories to keep me still,
A questionable faith to keep me going
And my estranged heart for me to try to hold on to.

I wait for a day that will never come
I wait ... Knowning I'm damned for eternity.
