^ if you're going through the trouble of recording television shows, why don't you just download them anyways?
the sound card answer was in response to the VCR answer. i would still like to point out that 12000 bucks will buy you only 12000 songs in itunes, which you keep forever provided you only use three comptuers, ipods, and CDs. |

QUOTE(sadolakced acid @ Oct 31 2005, 10:57 PM) ^ if you're going through the trouble of recording television shows, why don't you just download them anyways? the sound card answer was in response to the VCR answer. i would still like to point out that 12000 bucks will buy you only 12000 songs in itunes, which you keep forever provided you only use three comptuers, ipods, and CDs. It's a lot easier to record a television show than to download one (specific TV shows are a bit harder to find than music, and take much longer to download); furthermore, my computer isn't hooked up to cable, so if I see something on TV that I want to record, it's easier to just pop in a videotape. Secondly, as far as iTMS goes, you get five devices, and you can burn up to ten CD's. Five devices should cover the needs of most people, although I fully agree that the digital rights management on music is not the correct way of making use of technology. I think that people should be able to use music they bought however they please, and I do agree that the DRM is much too limiting, which is why I don't buy much music that is protected with DRM. However, I much prefer having an actual copy of a song that I can keep for as long as I want, as opposed to "renting" my music and then having none once I cancel my subscription. |
