9 mm is the bullet diameter, measured at 9mm. (not sure if these are special trade names or exact measures)
a .38 is .38th of an inch. also known as 38 caliber, which means 38 hundreths of an inch. also known as a 38. different size bullets will not work in the same gun. grains refers the the gunpowder in the cartridge. mangum= more powerful, more grains. automatic means that the gun automatically ejects spent cartridges and loads a bullet into the chamber. single action revolvers mean you have to pull back the hammer for every shot. you have to manualy reload each bullet once you've used up all the ones you've loaded. double action revolvers mean you only have to pull the trigger, the hammer raises automatically. errr... yea. |
