so this friday, my friend told me to go drinking with her and her friend.

they do it every weekend. i seemed to care before, about their health and stuff, but now i don't really.

don't get me wrong, they're not forcing me to drink-- it's my decision. and i want to.

so tell me, what are the risks?

i know that if you drink too much you can like die.
and that if you get caught then you can get fined/whatever.
you might get addicted,
it gives you a terrible hangover.
and you might do something you regret.

so what else?

oh, one question.
it might seem stupid, but say you drink once and you're applying for a job sometime in the next year or so. it won't show up will it? on the drug test, i mean. i know it's not a drug, but just making sure.

It's really not a problem as long as you're safe and (relatively) responsible. If you funnel a large amount of alcohol or drink as much as you can in a short period of time, it can be dangerous, but if you drink moderately over a long period of time, it's not really a problem. It's possible you could wind up with a nasty hangover, or perhaps get sick and throw up, but that's about all.

Just don't do anything stupid, like drive. And if someone passes out, make sure to lay her on her side, not her back or stomach.

Long term it can cause problems--alcoholism, liver disease, and so forth. So don't overdo it, or feel like you have to show off. And no, it's not like marijuana--it won't show up on a drug test, and it leaves your body fairly quickly, so it's unlikely to show up on blood tests or breath tests unless you are still drunk when you take them.

My personal opinion? It's not really all it's cracked up to be. It can be a good time with the right people, but don't go overboard with it, or start making excessive drinking into a regular habit.

I agree. I drink socially but always in moderation. I've seen some people who started out as social drinking have progressed into something worse. You have to think smart when it comes to drinking.
