I was just wondering, because I tried asking all the girls in my school and most of them said that they rather be asked "Will you be my girlfriend"

Be my girldfriend seems forward.
Will you go out with me is better. But you should be specific. Eg. "Oh would you like to go out with me on saturday night? [Movie name here] is playing at 7..?"
