Being happy...is all that matters

Well, this guy...I'll call him Guy E. He has liked me since grade 8...and we're in grade 12 now...so about 4 years and a bit. Anyway, last year he told me that he liked me, and I rejected him by saying that we should stay friends. And so we did. But I've always gotten that feeling that he still likes me...but I pushed it back, because he did say that he doesn't like me anymore.

Anyway, yesterday, he was bugging me on msn while I was doing some homework, and I accidentally let slip "shut the f**k up" to him. And afterwards...like...maybe after a couple of hours, I told him that I was sorry and I didn't mean it. And he didn't answer. And today I tried to talk to him on msn, and same result. No answer.

I've asked other people about this and they said that since he liked me, and probably still likes me, everything I say to him is blown out of proportion...if I say something positive to him, it'll make him very happy, and if I say something negative...he'll be very very hurt. But I didn't take this into consideration...as I assumed he quit liking me after I told him "no"...but I guess not.

So my question is...how do I get him to talk to me again?

See, if you had done this a few months back, I would have winced at it like witnessing a kick in the balls.

This guy still likes you, he just SAID he didn't because he knows that things will be akward if he says he still did. (That and he probably was trying to do you a favor) You told him that, and he'll be depressed for quite a while.

You have 2 choices and 2 consequences:

1.You can just apologize to him, be really nice and try to make him feel better:

A: This will more than likely fix things between y'all, I have 98% chance he'll belive and forgive you. How do I know this? Well, one time someone I liked had cussed me out, and degraded me. (It was PMS as I later found out) She apologized, and things were cool again. I however would not lean towards this very quickly. Why? Because it will fuel his feelings for you and make a long term problem, longer.

2.You can drop it, maybe get other people to talk about how sorry you are around him. Beat around the bush a little.

A:I might suggest this, because it will get your point across (60% chance...) and it won't really FUEL his feelings for you. This might let you have your cake and eat it, but it may just take all away.

Choose wisely.
