My father who has worked in a hotel for 10 years is about to lose his job. They are selling the hotel, and I'm afraid our family will lose a lot, I don't know what to do, I have a newborn baby brother, and I don't really want him getting a hard life. I mean I already have a well paying job so I can support myself, although I'm more worried about my family. This is really stressing me out I just found out today. I've already lived a hard life so I know how it is, but I take out one problem in life, just to find out there's more waiting for me...

Turn over in management or ownership doesn't usually result in turn over in staffing. If the owner hasn't been in the hotel business yet, or even if he/she has been, he/she would need the expertise of current staff, that's your Dad, to ease the transition of new management. Well, that is the case most of the time.
If he does get laid off from the company, with his experience, it should be easy to find another position elsewhere. |
