Politicians sure love to talk about violent, bloody games like Grand Theft Auto, Mortal Kombat, and Postal. I just finished reading this one article on PC Gamer (was bored) and despite what people like Hilary Clinton and Jack Thompson have been ranting about all this time, violent and firearm-related crimes and teenage homicides have actually declined even after the release of the Playstation, and is still lower than 20 years ago when 'violent' games like "Mario Bros." were coming out.
GameRevolution has written a similar article but using the same source: http://gr.bolt.com/articles/violence/violence.htm If you don't feel like reading, the whole essay can be summarized in the three charts below, taken by the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Statistics (or in other words, a good, reliable source): ![]() ![]() ![]() |

games are a fantasy to begin with........ most who play games to much often do it to avoid the problems of everyday life...such as being teased having to socialize.....etc....games are somewhat of an outlet to stress / anger towards other people. And like my good friend stated above me...people who get pleasure from hurting people in games...often become game finatics...instead of serial killers...
