why are most sites without the www. thing and how can u get a w3 site?

Once upon a time, "www" was a subdomain that indicated the server was serving webpages, as opposed to "ftp" (file transfer), "gopher" (gopher), and so forth. Now, most webservers will automatically redirect to the www subdomain so you can just type in the domain of the server.
You can get a www.whatever.tld address by buying a hostname from register.com, registernames.com, godaddy.com, or another hostname dealer. |
