if you've been in a long distance relationship, how did it become long distance?
(me and my girlfriend met at camp but we live in different states.)
how often do you get to see your bf/gf in a long distance relationship?
(i haven't gotten to see her at all since we left each other sad.gif )
and how do you cope if you rarely get to see them or know it might not be for another 7-8 months before you get to see them again?

20 minutes away isn't exactly a long-distance relationship... mellow.gif _dry.gif

My boyfriend and I have been together for nearly 10 months, and we're stronger than ever. I'm in Georgia, he's in Texas. We met through Xanga, and it was completely unplanned. A good friend of mine had moved, and she knew him from her school, and while I was on her site one day, I saw his comment and ironically, I clicked his site. He was adorable, and he liked the same music I did - even the underground bands, so I left him a comment. And it was on his birthday, too. It's so funny how that worked out. We just kind of talked a bit online, and the more we talked, the more we clicked and everything. I had no intention of starting anything with anyone, especially so far away, but it just happened, and I'm so glad it did. I've never been happier in my life. And yes, we've met in person and everything, he even flies over and stays with us. There's hardly ever a time when I'm not on the phone with him, and it took some time to get used to, but my parents absolutely adore him.

Yeah, it can get hard when you don't have their hand to touch every second, but it'll never work with ANY relationship if you don't have communication. It's amazing how he knows me so, so well, better than I even know myself. And you have to have that little thing called trust. He knows I would never do anything to hurt him, and I know he never would, either. And we've both dated enough people to know that we want what we've already got - each other. So yes, long-distances can work if you want them to. All I know is I'm happier than I've ever been, and this is the only thing that I know is true in my life. I love that boy more than anything.
