Delusions in Love
Standing here on solid ground My place I finally found So safe within a warm embrace Nothing can go wrong with the warm sun on my face But then the ground below cracks in three Reality I now see My mind divided as I look for me And then I see his face On solid ground, still in grace But he’s so far away I shout “I love you” and out of fear I stay And a hand appears much closer now I want to reach but don’t know how He grabs my hand and pulls me The ground below him I did not see It’s even more cracked than mine It’s falling apart but he walks like it’s all fine He’s lived on the broken ground for many a day He’s been broken so long that he knows the way But I know now that this is not okay He leads me down the highway to hell When I strayed from my love, my soul I did sell I wake inside a freezing sweat Glad that’s not the fate I met But as I look around That same scene I have found I’m pushing love away Moving to another as I stray Towards the end, my dying day |

AHH. I love it! It's so mysterious and your way of words is absolutely beautiful. Maybe you should elaborate more on the theme of this poem and tie it together at the end. Love or death? Great job though.
