well, as julia stated, tommorow is september 11th. so my question is, what was your 9/11 memory? by this, i mean, where were you when you found out? what else happened that day? here's mine:
i was in 4th grade. it was first period or something like that. they were starting to say the morning announcements, and then our principal was like "the twin towers have been knocked down". something along those lines. the whole day i was really confuzed, because i had no clue what the twin towers were. in social studies, my teacher turned on the tv and we just watched the news, the whole period. i remember a few kids at school crying that day too >.>. when i got home that day, i turned on the tv, and every single news channel had the story on it. me and my dad talked about it for awhile, and he explained what the twin towers were and such. er- yeah. that was my 9/11. what was yours? |

I was in 6th grade, and it was the end of the school day that I found out. All I remember is yelling at these idiots to shut up because they were yelling, "WORLD WAR THREE!! WORLD WAR THREE!!" and then I went on reading my book.
It never really affected me because all I could think is, "There are worse things going on in other parts of the world every day and we don't seem to notice them, so why should we notice this?" I never thought that was fair, but then again, life isn't fair. |

I never thought that was fair, but then again, life isn't fair. yea but there are plenty of people out there who never thought it could happen in a most civilized country....but i totally agree with your statement well.....here we go again ....i guess its best to talk about my experience on that day i was in my freshman year during my Earth Science Class in 3rd period , i never knew what had really happened before 3rd what all the commotion and fuss was about during the hallways ..until my teacher told us about it and showed it in the proxima ....the thought of it never sinked me in ....af first i thought it was just an accidemt ...and so class resumed ..as hours and periods passed too ...i start to see classmates crying and leaving home early ....now i start hearing from my friends that a 2nd plane crashed ....and it still never sunk through me ...until after 5th period gym ...the principle announced of what had happened ...and if its best that we would be safe in school till it ends...she also assured of many of the students that have loved ones working in the city go seek a counselour for help and contact. my mind started sinking through the depths everyone i knew started to think of anyone they know who worked in the city . all my friends were annoyed cuz they wanted to go home ...one of them being one of my close was in joy when he was allowed to be dismissed from the counselour ....lucky for me during 8th and 9th or so one of my older cousins picked me up my sisters and 2 cousins and headed home ....when i came back home i went to the kitchen just seeing my parents and grandfather staring at the tv all day .....and during that time because of the TV ....i starteed to think differently about everything around me and in my life ......i slept ...hoping it was a dream next day .... being so close around the city ...i guess many new yorkers felt deeply affected but also felt a passion to keep on doing what there doing ...so class resumed the next day ....during that day ..many of my teachers gaver speeches....many of whom started to see tears running through there faces.....it hit hard for us ...because we are from new york and all...but yet ...noone ever swayed back on what there supposed to do ....i still cant believe teachers were still able to teach... 3 days after-school i asked my dad if we knew that my tita ella was alright ....she used to live in a apartment suite next to the world trade center...thats the apartment suite where Russel Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons used to reside (i was supposed to sing at a carol there but i was sick >.<). my dad said she was ok . my dad also told me he was supposed to get placed an interview in one of there business firms there during late july ...that suprised me ....3 hours later that night i went downstairs and hear my dad crying ...never heard him cry before ....we just found out that one of out close relatives "Hector Tamayo" is still found missing ....i felt bad because i know my distant cousins would have a hard time with that....out of all that....i was suprised i knew someone that died ...and i knew him ......just knowing someone that week....would make u cry ...after that i attened vigils and so on ..... alright so thats the end ....good bye for now |
