well, as julia stated, tommorow is september 11th. so my question is, what was your 9/11 memory? by this, i mean, where were you when you found out? what else happened that day? here's mine:
i was in 4th grade. it was first period or something like that. they were starting to say the morning announcements, and then our principal was like "the twin towers have been knocked down". something along those lines. the whole day i was really confuzed, because i had no clue what the twin towers were. in social studies, my teacher turned on the tv and we just watched the news, the whole period. i remember a few kids at school crying that day too >.>. when i got home that day, i turned on the tv, and every single news channel had the story on it. me and my dad talked about it for awhile, and he explained what the twin towers were and such. er- yeah. that was my 9/11. what was yours? |

I was 6th grade, I think. I still remember what happened that day. It was in the morning and my mom was listening to the radio. I was sleeping. My mom ran up the stairs and woke me up and said "OMG AMERICA'S BEING BOMBED!", and I was like "Yeah yeah, whatever, let me sleep." Until I woke up and actually saw the impact and hugeness of 9/11 did I realize how wrong I was. It was so surreal, watching these planes go offcourse and hit towers.
I disagree with PinkTrash, it affected me in a great way even though I'm not American. 9/11, like the tsunami a few months ago, tore people apart and in a peculiar way, brought us all together. The terrorist attack itself was not part of humanity's finest hour, but the sympathy that people gave out and with all the help the reached out with - that was truly a triumph of the human spirit. It was weird. In the 6th grade I didn't really care about a lot of stuff. Nothing really affected me, but this did. |
