Investigators said Soriya Richards stabbed Makeedah Cox to death at Saturday's Caribbean Festival at Palm Bay Regional Park. Witnesses told police the two girls were arguing about a boy near the stage at the festival, which honors Caribbean culture and youth with musical acts among other presentations. "Richards pulled out a pocketknife and stabbed the girl in the neck, basically severing her jugular," police spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez said. Palm Bay Fire-Rescue attended to Cox until she was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne where she was pronounced dead. She was a Stone Middle School student, according to school records. Richards is being held in the Brevard County Juvenile Detention Center. |

Can't people control their emotions a little more? I thought killing yourself over a guy or girl was bad.. and now people have demoted themselves to killing other human beings? Don't they think about the impact they could have had in the future. Or the other people they are hurting? |
