I suppose I can make this a more generalized topic by saying "Post things that exist in the world that you hate, but yet you can do nothing about"

I really really dislike going to school everyday and seeing a bunch of stupid, depressed little children complaining about their lives and showing off their scars from 'cutting'. And when I try to help them, they simply say "I don't care" or "I don't need help" or some kind of shit like that. I want to grab their shoulders and yell "CHILD, YOU DO NEED HELP!!" It's like those idiots who are pretending to be depressed or whatever the f**k they're doing are mocking people who really do suffer the MEDICAL ILLNESS OF DEPRESSION.

I absolutely despise these pathetic children 'suffering' and then not doing a shit about it! I'm trying so f**king hard to brighten my life and because I may seem a little gloomy, dark and hot tempered I'm instantly categorized into those people. It's not cool to be depressed. It's a serious condition and if you have it, get help! You idiots don't understand. I see a psychiatrist and a psychologist regularly. I pick up instruments like violin, piano, guitar and try hard to accomplish things when all those other hobos are like "I don't care about life", "Just kill me now", "Bang f**king bang". IF YOU WANT TO COMMIT SUICIDE, COMMIT SUICIDE AND STOP COMPLAINING AND MAKING ALL US DEPRESSED PEOPLE LOOK BAD.

Alright, I'm done. Sorry if this topic has already been made (although I doubt it has). I tried searching, but really couldn't find anything or even a good keyword to use.

Your turn to make a heated rant.

Woot. I usually have a lot to say on this matter..

--

I hate how every freaking thing has to become the victim of the next trend. I don't mind clothing trends and stuff like that, because it's not my place to tell anyone what to wear or say or do. The trends I'm talking about are things to 'be' and such. Let me explain.

First it was suicide 'attempts', depression, self-mutilation, and making up mental disorders. Okay, since when was it 'kewl' to think negative thoughts? Since when was forcing pain onto oneself 'trendy'? I honestly don't get it. Why pick something that's already looked down upon by society and just make it worse for those that truly suffer from depression or mental disorders?

I'm sorry, but if you're 'attempting' suicide by taking a few vitamin pills, I will kill you myself. You're not impressing anyone with your pathetic 'cries' for help. I do realize people out there truly want to end their lives and all, and believe me, I'm not mocking them or anything. I'm mocking those that think it's kewliez to try and kill yourself so you can just come out of it with an hXc story to tell. If you truly wanted to end your life, you wouldn't tell anyone that would listen. If you do, that shows you just want the attention and you just want to be 'caught in the act' or whatever else you're trying to do or gain. It's pathetic, if you ask me.

And then the whole making mental disorders up..
My God..
You can't really tell if you have a mental issue unless you've been tested by a real doctor, and even then you can't even be completely sure if you're under the age of about twenty-five or so. Your brain has to complete its growth and overall development stages before you can even begin to set things into stone.
Okay, so you look behind your back a lot when you're outside.....congratulations, that doesn't not mean that you suffer from paranoia.
So you go through some mood swings....I'm sorry, but you're not insane, and you are not necessarily bipolar. Teenagers in general go through a lot of mood swings, and girls do even more because of other things that go along with the 'teenager' thing. And no, this isn't a sex. ed. lesson.

Anyway, you must be catching my drift by now.
Just because you have a few minor symptoms of a mental disorder here or there does NOT mean you truly suffer from it. Everyone has quirks and all. I just don't get what's so trendy about blowing your little quirks out of proportion and exaggerating them to the point that you believe you suffer from some mental disorder.

Then the next trend that rolled around was claiming to be bisexual. Notice how they hardly ever came out to say that they were homosexual.
You know, I've realized that you can't necessarily be sure of your sexuality until you're a bit older. Once again, this may come off as part of a sex. ed. lesson, but teenagers are....curious and they like to experiment, even with their own sex, but you know what? That doesn't mean you're bisexual or homosexual by any means. There are some cases where you can be completely sure, but overall, you can't be sure for a while.

It just pisses me off how all of these little mallwhores run around and try to pretend to be something that they're not. Something more serious than petty little stereotypes.

I just don't get it.... I don't get why people can't just sit down and say what they really are. Just because you're supposedly bisexual doesn't mean you're any 'edgier' or 'sexier' than the next person, and that is usually the goal of those pretending to be bisexual. People that aren't heterosexual have always had a difficult time with 'coming out.' Sure, it's easier to 'come out' now than it was to about twenty years ago or so, but it's still not something you'd shout to the world. Do you see straight people saying, "hey! I'm Sue, I'm thirteen years old and I'm straight!!"? - No. That's right. You don't see straight people doing that. What the hell does it matter if you're straight or bi or gay? If you become closer with that person, then sure, go ahead and tell then, but if you have to make it a point to announce it to the person after just meeting them for the first time, then it's obvious you're only seeking some sort of feedback or you're only looking for certain reactions or something stupid like that.

Now onto the last trend that I've noticed.

It seems like now feigning eating disorders is now a trend. Some people seem to think that they can 'go anorexic' or 'go bulemic.' Well, excuse me, buddy, but I'm afraid you cannot. It's called an 'eating disorder' for a reason. It's a disorder. It's not just something you can choose to be some days and say 'screw it' other days. It's a controlling thing. You can't control it on your own without some sort of eventual help. Some people seem to think they can just 'turn' anorexic for a little while because they think it's a diet or something. Go ahead and starve yourself....I honestly don't give a shit if you're just going to pretend to be something that you're not, and it's not even a positive thing you're pretending to be. Eating disorders can scar you for life, but apparently some people want to appear screwed up or something.

That's what I don't get.
What's so appealing about seeming f**ked up?
Wow, you're so hardcore. If only I could be as screwed up as you are. Oh, if only. . .
Is that what they want people to think or say?
I just don't get it.
Go ahead and talk about how you fantasize about corpses or about how you like to cut your wrists and drink the blood. Go ahead and talk about that all day long. You're not impressing anyone but yourself, and perhaps the other people trying to appear screwed up as well, but you usually don't get anywhere when attempting to 'compete' with those people. They always have to stretch their stories so they can be the most screwed up.

--

Well, that was a rant of mine that I posted on my Xanga a few days ago. The tone of this rant doesn't really fit the tone of the thread and all, but I'm too lazy to type a new one out.

That about covers most of what I was going to say though, so yeah. I'll edit this post if anything else comes to mind.

AHH BRIE, SO TRUE!! You put it a lot better than I did. It annoys me to no end. I never knew anyone would actually take notice to these things since they're so preoccupied themselves in trying to find their 'mental disorders' and such. Wow, thanks for that.

Okay .. now for more rants..

Just a short one on 'non-conformists'-

You all are the same. You probably buy from the same stores. You don't make your clothing from scratch. I'm sure 500 people are walking around with the same outfit you're wearing! You're not different. You are mainstream non-conformists!

Bisexual wannabes -

Being bisexual seems to be a trend now. So many people are getting into it that others are questioning their own sexuality and they think they'll suddenly be cooler if they're bisexual. And I bet those that pretend are like "Ooh, I'm bisexual. I'm hot shit." end up never going out with someone of the same gender! Sexual preference is sexual preference.

People who beg for sympathy

"Oh your dad died? I'm so sorry. If there's anything you need, I'll be there to help you. I know it must be really hard for you to go through this."

4 years later. "Can you get me my books from my locker? I keep thinking about my dad and it just makes me feel so tired and weak." "OKAY, I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS!!" "But my dad died. Don't you feel sorry for me?"

Ahh, wow. Thanks, everyone. :)

Hm... There are more things that I dislike about people as a general whole, but most of them have already been spoken about.

Ah! I've thought of something.

--

It pisses me off when people add bands to their 'lists' of bands with only one thing in mind, and that one thing is to impress.
Honestly, just because you have 5,000 bands on your list doesn't mean you're better than the person with 5 bands on their list.
Having 5,000 bands on your little list doesn't make you more loyal to music, since it'd be pretty hard to seriously keep up with 5,000 bands. I realize I may sound like a hypocrite, seeing that my list of favorite bands isn't exactly short, but I, however, have at least one album of each band on my list....that is if they have albums out.
Anyway, back to what I was talking about.... Those people don't know anything about more than half of the bands they add to their pathetic lists. I bet you anything that they're only in it so they can buy 'cute' little shirts that have the band's names in rhinestone jewels. It's pathetic. I also bet that if you asked them a somewhat easy question about the band that they wouldn't be able to tell you much more than the singer's name and their most recent album... if that.

--

As a whole, I dislike excessively happy people.... but not all, so don't quote me and cuss me out for this, but I dislike people that are just ALWAYS so happy and in your face and they just breathe sunshine and butterflies. Yeah, I'd rather be around a super optimist than a super pessimist, but it gets annoying. They just fly down the hallways and act like everyone else should join them and just be merry. It's a good thing to look on the bright side, but it's a better thing to be more of a realist. Things aren't always going to go your way, and if you're always so happy and cheerful, one little thing could really mess you up... if that made any sense.

--

The whole Happy Bunny thing. I am so happy that trend is finally dying out. I absolutely cannot stand that rabbit. It isn't blunt, nor is it witty, and neither are the majority of the people that wear Happy Bunny merchandise. I guess a couple of the phrases were minutely amusing, but they've certainly worn out their welcome.

--

One trait that I really dislike about a lot of people is arrogance. It's great if you like yourself and don't have a bunch of hatred towards yourself, but is it necessary to talk and/or think about yourself all of the time? It's fine to put your problems ahead (for the most part) and all, but is it truly necessary to only think about yourself? That's pretty selfish, if you ask me, and being selfish isn't something to be proud of either. I'd much rather speak with a humble or subdued person rather than someone that's boisterous and conceited. You can actually keep up a decent conversation with someone that thinks of other things other than trying to inflate their own egos even more than they already are.

--
Another thing that I really dislike about a lot of people is that they're always trying to be so unique and different than everyone else, but they try so hard to accomplish that goal that they end up looking and acting like the majority of the people at the school. It's great to be unique and different, but if that's all that's on your mind and you don't really accomplish it anyway, then what's the point? And another thing that goes along with that is when people try so hard to deem some title or ranking... like something having to do with intelligence, usually, but they try so hard to be something and to deem that little title that they use its resources to rip anyone apart and make someone's life miserable to a small extent. It's fine to be something and it's fine to deem a little title if it makes you happy, but don't overdo it.

It's strange how the mind works sometimes, I think.

--

One last thing for now, since these little attempts at 'rants' have sucked horribly.
I hate it when people try so freaking hard to be humorous or witty or blunt or something like that. What's so fun about being a bitch, anyway? Do you get some kind of joy out of outwardly criticising people you don't even know? To me, it's pathetic. It's fine to be funny and it's fine to be witty or blunt if the time is right, but if that's all you strive to be, then that's pretty stupid, in my humble opinion. Sarcasm's great fun sometimes, but some people just overdo it and cross the line. Some people will do just about anything to pick other people apart. I don't think that's how the world should work.

--

Well, that's all I have to say now; I've said too much as it is.
