I never read Hardy Boys, but I did read Nancy Drew and American Girl
I actually had to take speach therapy too. Just in second grade. I was pretty pissed off. It was only for the 'sh' sound. I got out of there as quickly as possible. Between speech and focus (elementary school girfted program) I was hardly ever in normal class. Amazing I learned anything that year. Focus kicked ass, though What are these bluebonnet books? I read the Hobbit in 4th grade on my own, I think. It was decent, but in 7th grade we had to read it for class and I hated it. I never made it past the intro of the Fellowship I could never just read one book at a time. I think my record was reading 7 books at once. I always finished them quickly, too, since I would read instead of paying attention to class. That pissed off my teachers, so they'd take away my books, so then I'd just doodle instead. By the end of the year, I always had to sit on the first row so i could be easily seen and yelled at AR wasn't taken seriously in elementary school- in fact, i never had many points since I couldn't be bothered to take tests since a lot of the books i read didn't have tests until middle school for the books i read. i always got AR trophies in middle school, though i loved ella enchanted! i read it abot 4 times. i actually did it for a book report once, too |
