whats the big deal??, w/ my skin color Options

i am an african american gurl, and at my school there are other black ppl that make fun of each other because they are a darker complexion. i think its stupid how sum black ppl are being racsit against themselves. im dark skinned and i dont see what the big deal is about being a dark complexion is a big deal. i mean too me black is black. like today at school, this kid nick was making fun of this other black kid because he was dark. but nick is just as dark as the kid he was making fun of. i jsut dont understand, they act like being dark is a bad thing.

i am wondering if a situation like this has happened to u?? i kno that not every1 is black, lol but i c other racist do the same thing to each other at me school

i've heard of that, i saw a movie once and this woman who was dark skinned told her child (i forget what gender) that the child's father's mother didn't like her because she was darker than a paper bag...

i think they do that because back in the day your skin color was why people didn't like you, so some dark skinned people think that they're better than you just because they're lighter...one of my teachers once pointed out that most of the famous blacks are light skinned which seems to be true...
