Help Victims of Hurricane Katrina

Hurricane Katrina has blazed a trail of devastation throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Across the Gulf Coast, Katrina engulfed thousands of homes and decimated the landscape in what could become the most destructive storm in U.S. history. Victims are stranded and in need of immediate medical care, food and water, and tens of thousands of people will need temporary housing for months.

the tsunami was just unbelievably disasterous to numerous countries.
whereas hurricane katrina effected but a few states.

not exactly cold-hearted, but uninformed. maybe both.

what do you mean i can't even compare the two? don't be silly. any kind of devastation is bad, even if one is worse than the other, they still destroy lives. the point is helping anyone in need, NOT "i'm not going to help these people because they're Americans", "i'm not going to help because it's not as bad as the tsunami". it's not even about not helping because you don't have money, because you have the man power, the brain power to help, too.

if there are two crimes, one of a woman being raped and one of a woman being killed. the one who's being killed is more deserving of help then the one being raped? is that what you're saying? if the two are occuring at the same time, then i may have reason to agree, but if they're occuring in different time lots, then not only are you heartless to ignore the woman being raped, you are also a low-life, in my humble opinion.

actually, the truth is not all cold-hearted. the truth is that many people all the the US are helping these victims as they are able. the truth is also texans opening up their homes to welcome survivors. the truth is people calling in to these shelters asking "how can I help?" the truth is drives are being set up to raise money for victims of katrina.

there will be more hurricanes in the future. imagine that your family is affected as louisianians and so many others were. imagine that you get no help because people have your kind of attitude.
