excorcist stuff, question Options

okay, thinking of that movie the Excorism of emily rose and all those other excorcist movies and stories. ive always wondered, why and how do u get "possessed". i mean, it was never really explained, and the bible doesnt really answer that question either. can it just.. happen. or do you have to do something?
if this is spam....well um sorry . look at it this way today has been a "spammy" day. so if this is spam, just look at it as another spam of the day i figured this question wouldnt be answered any other way than making it a topic. plus my sister asked me the question so i thought "Hey! lets ask the people of cb! they have all the answers!"

fairies and excorism ermm.gif wow what a connection you made. im not an uber religious person either. alot of stuff doesnt make sense in the bible, but there is also proof of excorisms and i follow whatever proof can give me, whether it be science or religion. the excorcism of emily rose isnt the only case of possession. ive learned alot about excorism before emily rose was even a twinkle in the directors eye. you dont know how much people know about the subject at hand.

There are also many cases of people meeting with fairies, but it doesn't mean fairies exist. Just because there have been cases of exorcism doesn't mean people are being possessed by the Devil.

You don't know me, so don't you dare automatically assume I know nothing about possession and tell me that I know little about the subject of exorcism.

By the way, religion revolves around faith. You can't take any facts to prove the existence or nonexistence of God. It's a matter of what you believe.

Sure there are cases of people being possessed, but there are many other things that may have happened instead of possession. Mental instability or drug overdose, for example.

Maybe there is a possibility of a spirit being able to speak through you, but the idea of Satan coming to take hold of your body is ridiculous.

but im still unclear on how possession can happen to a person, there is alot of different views. i dont expect some end all answer on here. i just thought it would be an interesting discussion. sure i can go on google or something, which i have. but i just wanted to know what other individuals thought. its okay u think its bullshit. but dont say the only reason we think it may be true is because of movies and media.
