here's one way to "improve the community"...
Don't suspend/ban members for creating spam topics... it just gives them more of a reason to spam and bitch about createblog. For example, when they get unsuspended... they'll just come back and continue to spam . Also, there is a createblog chat room that these 'banned/suspended spammers' go into daily and talk about how much createblog sucks. Now, let's say a newbie comes into that chatroom... Word spreads... and createblog's reputation then goes from great source for blogging needs to... uptight community. --P.S. I'm completely serious about this topic. By the way, one swift kick towards the crotch will surely stop them. |

that apply's only for noobs ;-)
I still think the best choice is to disallow/disable the username for uhm (like someone said) 500 days. (more faster, even he/she creates another username) example. banning 1 IP Range Class (like 255 IPs 1by1) requires more time then 1-3 clicks to disallow/disable an username. And it can happen that "the spammer" to login from an Internet Caffe, and from that IC other normal users login's too,by banning the "spammer" you can make the mistake banning other "normal ppl" who are not involved in that issue. PS:I had this problems too, when i was admin,so i know for sure, that not everytime is a good ideea to ban IP Addresses, when you have 93492394 users, not knowing from where they login. Thank You Enjoy. |
